Mini Paintings for Great Gifts by Josephine Hardison

I decided to introduce some small mini 4" x 4" oil paintings for the gift giving season. I added a 2" mat around the board and it make a nice presentation alone or beautiful framed as well. The two flower paintings would make a great pair grouped together or can be sold alone. Same goes for the two fruit paintings, great grouped together or I will sell them individually. The overall size with the mat is 8" x 8" , perfect for a small something for someone special on your gift list this Holiday Season. Each painting is $75.00 and I am happy to help with framing if you are interested. Just click here to go to my website and email about framing to jyhardison@att.net.

Hope you and your family have great Thanksgiving. Count your blessings, I am so blessed and grateful to all my art collectors. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to do something I truly love.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Feeling blessed to have completed a successful art show just across the new walking bridge in Louisville, KY. It was fun to see so many friends walk over the bridge and shop at the Steamboat Days Art Show. I was enjoying the warmth and loved feeling the sunshine on my beach paintings, I was dreaming of being on the beach! Can't wait for my next show, maybe somewhere in warm temperatures during the middle of winter!!! I'll keep you posted.

Green Pail By Josephine Hardison

24" x 24"
Oil on Canvas

Saw this cute photo on a friends Facebook page and asked if I could use it as a photo reference for a painting. It was of her granddaughter and I loved the green pail and was so much fun to paint. It is vacation time and many families will be heading to the beach. If you have a photo I could paint just email me at jyhardison@att.net. I never get tired of beach paintings. Every time I paint one it feels like my toes are in the sand.

Also don't forget to stop by Gallery 104 on Main St in LaGrange, KY if you are going to Arts on the Green this weekend!! I am honored to be the Artist of the Month for June and have lots of new things there!

Gallery 104 - LaGrange, KY - Artist of the Month - Josephine Hardison

This weekend is Arts on the Green in LaGrange, KY
Lots of fun things going on in this adorable little town. It reminds me of my hometown in Alabama. There is a courthouse in the center of town and cute shops around the square. Just off the square is GALLERY 104 and yes, I am so honored to be Artist of the Month for June. I just took lots of new pieces out and hung them just inside the front door. If you are in town for Arts on the Green, stop by the Gallery and check out my paintings!! My husband's band will be playing on Saturday afternoon, so I hope to see you there!!!

Spring Break By Josephine Hardison

24" x 24"
Oil on Canvas
$500.00

Painted from a trip to Seaside last Fall but in the Spring Break mind set. I had fun dreaming of the care free days during so many past Spring Break trips with my daughter and her friends. The memories will linger in my head forever. She is grown now but I loved every trip we took together while she was in school. We would always rent bikes and stroll around, what fun and this just makes me want to hope on and ride all day! Hope you choose to enjoy your day and spend it creating happy memories.

Small Town Church By Josephine Hardison

Happy Easter!!

I have posted this painting before but in honor of Easter I wanted to share it again. I have many happy memories of growing up in a small town in Alabama, where everyone dressed up for Easter, went to church, had a HUGE lunch and then hunted for hidden Easter eggs all afternoon. Every year my parents would line all the neighborhood kids up and take pictures of all the kids dressed up for church. After my parents passed away I found many of these photographs from long ago Easter mornings (they were worth a few laughs!!). This church is still standing but has been converted to a Library. It was not the church I went to as a child but I always liked the simple white building of the "other" church in town. Make a choice today to go to church and celebrate all the amazing blessings we have!!

Happy Feet By Josephine Hardison

20" x 20"
Oil on Panel
$400.00

I painted this several months ago but smaller. I wanted to try a larger version and had so much fun with it. Love the feel of the sand on my feet when I am at the beach and watching children running and twirling along the beach just brings me joy.
My husband put some great shelves in my studio and I am loving being able to place my completed painting along the wall to examine them from a distance. Of course I always find something I need to change the next day! Enjoy these cute little Happy Feet!!

Love the excitement of heading down the path leading to the ocean. We always have our hands filled with stuff...chairs, towels, sand toys, umbrellas, coolers, suntan lotion....is it really worth all the effort? OH YEA, that is always a HUGE YESSSSSS!!!!! Love finding the perfect spot and claiming it for the day, love watching all the children playing nearby, love reading a good book with my feet at the edge of the water. Oh my, I'm already there in my mind and hope to be there at some point in my not to distant future!!

I think I keep repeating myself but what can I say.... it is snowing outside and I am inside painting beaches!! That is where my heart is and that is what gets me through this dreaded cold Kentucky winter. Something about this old battered fence next to the large house on the hill that intrigued me. Hope you enjoy looking and hope it brings warm thoughts.

BEACH ABSTRACT By Josephine Hardison

30" x 30"
Oil on Canvas
$600

This a bit different for me. I am not much of an abstract painter but decided to just have fun and play around a little. I painted the canvas a bright yellow and orange background and let a little peek through. Sometime it is just fun to not really focus on getting it perfect but enjoying the process along the way. True of LIFE as well!!! Hope you enjoy my experiment, I like how it turned out, different for me but fun!! Make a choice today to try something different just for the fun of it!! Enjoy!

PERCHED BY Josephine Hardison

In progress photo of how I start a painting with a very loose rough sketch using the darks and lights to decide where I want my colors to go and what value to use. This also gives you a great way to see if you like the composition before you have invested to much into the piece. At this point I can go in and change whatever I want because it will all be covered when I add my color.

OK,  with 5" of snow outside on the ground there is nothing better to do than paint beach photos!!!! I know it has been awhile since my last post but still painting and staying busy!! Trying to catch up and post a few I have finished and may post some that are still in progress.
I still have so many wonderful photos from a Fall trip to Seaside, FL. I love revisiting them during this time of year back in Louisville. Awwwww, just wish I were sitting on the beach now! Make a choice to enjoy your day no matter where you are!!
