Got back from a long weekend at the Gulf Coast. There is nothing better than sunset on the beach. My feet were in the warm sand and happy to watch as the sun dips into the horizon. As many times as I have watched this, you would think it would get old or boring, but every time it is beautiful and amazing. Feeling very blessed!

My choice was to paint BIG!! I have been doing many small paintings and thought I would change things up a bit by going larger. I really like doing both and happy for the change. This was a picture I had painted before but in a totally different style. (Click here to see previous version) I have used the previous version for much of my marketing materials and still love the colors but wanted to try it from a different perspective. Many people may not believe it is from the same picture but it is just different styles of painting. The first version was done totally with a palette knife and this larger version was all done with brushes. I love them both!!! Guess it's like children, they are different and I love them in different ways!!! Which version do you like best???

Walking Bridge By Josephine Hardison

This is a new addition to the city of Louisville, KY. It has taken many years and lots of dedication, hard work and determination to bring it to reality. Thanks to all that never gave up!! An old railroad bridge that had not been used in years has now been refurbished with beautiful circular paths to the bridge entrance. It is such a great view as you stroll over the Ohio River to the Indiana side of the river. The Indiana side is still under construction, but will be fun to park in Kentucky and stroll the bridge over to Indiana for dinner and some shopping. This is a gift to a dear friend moving to Texas, I wanted her to have a little of Louisville to take with her to her new home!!!

It has been awhile since I have posted pictures. Life got in the way!! But it was a good part of life. My daughter purchased and closed on her very first house!!! Sooo very proud of her and LOVE her new home!!! My husband and I have been very busy helping her with projects and painting of a different kind!! Also my husband is in a new Bluegrass band (he hasn't quite his day job yet!!!) and I was put in charge of creating their website, FB page, brochures, business cards, well you get the picture.... I've been busy. (Click here to check out Keith's band and website!!) Oh, and also been working on 5 Christmas commissions, so I have managed to squeeze in a little "me" time!! Loving life and feel very blessed!

Bonaire Sunset By Josephine Hardison

6" x 6"
Oil on Board
$150.00

Click here to view or purchase this painting

Nothing better than a sunset at the beach. This is from a photo my husband took on one of our trips to Bonaire. It is a beautiful Dutch Island known for scuba diving. After a day filled with diving, it is very relaxing to chill anywhere on the island and watch as the sun slips into the water. If you are lucky you can see a green flash as the sun enters the water. We weren't able to travel there this year so I pretended to be there by painting it!!!

Beach Love By Josephine Hardison

6" x 6"
Oil on Board

SOLD !!

Click here to see other paintings AVAILABLE!!

Another Turks and Caicos painting from our trip a few years ago. I never get tired of painting the beach. It makes me feel like I'm almost there!! This was such a wonderful place and so many small islands to explore. There is one main island Providenciales or "Provo" for short that is the most inhabited but it so forth the time to explore the smaller islands close by. It requires a little work to reserve the ferry and then a car, but worth it to see isolated beaches like the one above!!!
So happy this sold and is being shipped out to New York City on Monday! Had to let the paint dry first!!! Such a great problem to have!! Thanks to the purchasers, honored to be in your home!!

When I was growing up in LaFayette, AL, this was a beautiful little church. It has since been fully restored and turned into a Library. So glad to see it being used and restored for such a great purpose! It could be any small town church especially in small towns throughout the Southeast. Love taking drives through small town USA, brings back great memories of growing up.

At a recent family wedding, I caught this shot just before the ceremony started of the flower girl putting her tiny feet in the bride's shoes. It was precious to watch her fascination with the beautiful shoes. What is it with girls and our shoes??!! Nothing better than playing dress up as a little girl. Love this memory of my niece's wedding. She was such a beautiful bride!!! And of course the flower girl was a cutie as well!!

Back in the Spring I was in Alabama/Georgia for a family wedding and driving back and forth on Highway 18 was such a peaceful drive. The road is a narrow country lane but surrounded by farms and lots of green. Loved the shadows these trees made on the highway and had fun playing with the shapes. Take a drive today down an old country road, it is a very relaxing gift to yourself!!

My choice today was to paint the light. Had fun playing with the water and sunlight. I tried to capture the feeling of first thing in the morning when you are on the water and the sun is on your back and the day is fresh and new and just beginning. The entire day is ahead with unknown opportunities. I hope your day is filled with great opportunities that you treasure! Enjoy your day!

GAME DAY By Josephine Hardison

6" x 6"
Oil on Panel
$150.00

Click here to view or purchase this painting

WAR EAGLE!! Well it is football season and my choice today was to celebrate my school's victory with a painting! Although some may not understand the "War Eagle",  at Auburn University it is a tradition from many years ago. At most home games the beloved eagle will make a lap around the stadium, then return to his trainer. It still gives me chills when I see this before every game. Although the team mascot is not an eagle but a tiger ( I know it's confusing!!!) I just wanted to paint the helmet that goes into battle every Saturday for this beloved sport on the Plains of Auburn, AL!!!!

Vicki Dennis, on of the co-chairs (along with  Pam Tallman) visiting with quests. Great job they did getting it all together!!

Just inside the front door I am honored to greet you with one of my paintings!!

I know its hard to do, but if you can look past the food there is a sailboat painting of mine hanging out with the food!

And yes that's my painting hanging out above the doorway. Don't forget to look UP if you stop by!!

Gone Diving By Josephine Hardison

Hanging out at home! This is a keeper!!!

Oil on Linen Canvas

Click here to view on my website

My husband and I are scuba divers and this is from a photo of one of our favorite spots. Bonaire is a small Dutch island that is ALL about diving! There are so many shore diving spots, (where you can just walk in from the shore) that we can do 2, 3 or 4 dives a day! Of course our energy wears out before we run out of places to choose from!! Think I'll keep this one!

If you have a photo of your boat or favorite vacation photo, email it to me and I would be happy to paint you something for your home!

During our trip to Cuba we were lucky enough to make 2 visits to the beach!!!! Both days we were there it was filled with families everywhere! This little girl caught my eye with her determination to her digging. The pink and blue colors were a great combination for a painting. I love how this turned out and had such a great time playing with all the colors. I never get tired of painting sand and every time I choose different colors to get the right reflection from the sun. It is always a GREAT day when I am at the beach or painting a beach!!!!!!!! Awwwwwwww!!!!!!

As we were walking back I took this quick photo of "The Guys" and had fun painting it, especially the sky! It was a gift to one of the guys and hope he enjoys it. Oh, I have so many photos to paint and having such fun remembering the trip with each painting I create. I just love playing with the paint!!! Yea! As we were leaving the beach one day on our trip to Cuba, our group saw this amazing car in the parking lot. The owner of the car was kind enough to have two of our group sit inside for a photo. I couldn't resist attempting to paint them. I'm not the best with painting faces but got a little help from a great teacher! The car was fun to paint but the faces a little more challenging! It is all a fun learning experience. Gave them as gifts to Jeremy and Kim and hope they enjoy!!

Havana at Night By Josephine Hardison

We recently had all my trip mates over for dinner to have a wrap up meeting about our mission trip. They all made such an impression on me and the good works they each did while in Cuba, that I wanted to give them a little something to remember their trip. This is a painting from one of the pictures I took while visiting Havana. A typical street scene at night strolling down the many streets filled with interesting sights and people. This was for our fearless leader of the group and so grateful for all his leadership. Thanks, John!!
