Nothing better than a sunset at the beach. This is from a photo my husband took on one of our trips to Bonaire. It is a beautiful Dutch Island known for scuba diving. After a day filled with diving, it is very relaxing to chill anywhere on the island and watch as the sun slips into the water. If you are lucky you can see a green flash as the sun enters the water. We weren't able to travel there this year so I pretended to be there by painting it!!!

Beach Love By Josephine Hardison

6" x 6"
Oil on Board

SOLD !!

Another Turks and Caicos painting from our trip a few years ago. I never get tired of painting the beach. It makes me feel like I'm almost there!! This was such a wonderful place and so many small islands to explore. There is one main island Providenciales or "Provo" for short that is the most inhabited but it so forth the time to explore the smaller islands close by. It requires a little work to reserve the ferry and then a car, but worth it to see isolated beaches like the one above!!!
So happy this sold and is being shipped out to New York City on Monday! Had to let the paint dry first!!! Such a great problem to have!! Thanks to the purchasers, honored to be in your home!!

When I was growing up in LaFayette, AL, this was a beautiful little church. It has since been fully restored and turned into a Library. So glad to see it being used and restored for such a great purpose! It could be any small town church especially in small towns throughout the Southeast. Love taking drives through small town USA, brings back great memories of growing up.

At a recent family wedding, I caught this shot just before the ceremony started of the flower girl putting her tiny feet in the bride's shoes. It was precious to watch her fascination with the beautiful shoes. What is it with girls and our shoes??!! Nothing better than playing dress up as a little girl. Love this memory of my niece's wedding. She was such a beautiful bride!!! And of course the flower girl was a cutie as well!!

Back in the Spring I was in Alabama/Georgia for a family wedding and driving back and forth on Highway 18 was such a peaceful drive. The road is a narrow country lane but surrounded by farms and lots of green. Loved the shadows these trees made on the highway and had fun playing with the shapes. Take a drive today down an old country road, it is a very relaxing gift to yourself!!

My choice today was to paint the light. Had fun playing with the water and sunlight. I tried to capture the feeling of first thing in the morning when you are on the water and the sun is on your back and the day is fresh and new and just beginning. The entire day is ahead with unknown opportunities. I hope your day is filled with great opportunities that you treasure! Enjoy your day!

GAME DAY By Josephine Hardison

WAR EAGLE!! Well it is football season and my choice today was to celebrate my school's victory with a painting! Although some may not understand the "War Eagle",  at Auburn University it is a tradition from many years ago. At most home games the beloved eagle will make a lap around the stadium, then return to his trainer. It still gives me chills when I see this before every game. Although the team mascot is not an eagle but a tiger ( I know it's confusing!!!) I just wanted to paint the helmet that goes into battle every Saturday for this beloved sport on the Plains of Auburn, AL!!!!
