Many years ago I traveled to Abaco, Bahamas. A short ferry ride from Marsh Harbor is a small island with a beautiful lighthouse. I was there in December and the entire island was decorated for Christmas. It was a great place. At  my recent reception someone asked if I had ever painted a lighthouse and I remembered this photo I took years ago. I dug it out and really like how it turned out.  So, K, thanks for the suggestion, hope you like it!! My choice today was to listen to others suggestions, hope you do the same!!

About this time last year I was in Belize in the tiny village of Red Bank. On Sunday most of the village walks down the street to the small one room church. I attended the church service and it was simple but so moving. They are proud people and are so welcoming. It was a very unique and memorable service and I wanted to try to capture the simple beauty in this painting. Hope you choose wisely today and have many blessings in your life.

It is DERBY time in Kentucky!! Such a FUN time of year, the flowers are blooming, everyone is dressing up, the horses  are running and Mint Juleps are consumed by many! I made the choice to create a painting to donate for a great program at Churchill Downs (Home of the Kentucky Derby)! I had a blast painting large and with so many colors. I painted this a few weeks ago and finally got around to posting  it  on my blog. I love painting water, beaches and boats!!! So this was a triple whammy!!! Love the peaceful feeling when you are in a sailboat and all you can hear are the flapping of the sails in the wind. That is peaceful at it's BEST. I hope your choice today is to include some quiet peace in your day.

This is a painting I have donated to Race for Grace. This will be actioned off to raise money for a Chaplaincy program  at Churchill Downs. WHAT FUN WE HAD!!!!!

There is nothing like a great BEACH PARTY! We had such fun and I was truly humbled to see so many friends stop by for my very first art show!!!!! YES, very first!!! I hope there will be many more ahead. It was not perfect weather and in spite of the pouring rain and wind, just like at the beach, life goes on. I was so grateful to my artist friends, my old friends, my new friends, my young friends and my family friends, whew!! I didn't realize I had so many friends. I am truly blessed and thank everyone for showing up on such a stormy night. I sold 2 paintings (Thanks to my 2 new collectors!!!!!!) and received very warm comments. I think I just may keep on painting. Hope to see you at the next one!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited to share my paintings with anyone in the Louisville area on Thursday night. I have had the best time painting and now they all need new homes!! I have to make room in my house for more paintings!! They are becoming like children and I am quickly getting attached to certain ones. I know I must allow them to find their way in the world and just hope it will be to someone tomorrow night! I have been working so hard taking workshops, classes and trying to paint better and better. And you know what they say, Practice makes perfect!!!
