After my visit to Callaway Gardens and watching all the plein air painters, I wanted to try it myself. So I started small and just went to my own backyard. I hope that's not cheating but I had fun anyway. It is much harder than painting from a photograph you can crop!! But again I challenged myself and got through it. I love chillin in our backyard and love when neighbors drop by to hang out in the pool. Summer is the best for me and feel so blessed to have this to enjoy! Stop by if you are in the neighborhood!

Recently I was staying with a cousin at Callaway Gardens. She and her husband were such fun to visit with. I had a wonderful time and it happened to be Plein Air weekend at Callaway Gardens and in the small town of Pine Mountain, GA. I got to watch many of the fabulous plein air painters and took a few photos while I was there. I didn't have my paints with me or I would have just set up next to one of them to learn some new tips! This street scene was something I had been wanting to try to paint, it was challenging but I got through it. I like how it turned out and need to keep practicing and challenge myself more!!

What fun this was!!! We have a new baby boy in our neighborhood. He is adorable and I can't wait to give this to them. They are vacationing at the beach now and I am waiting for their return to present them with this gift. There is nothing better to me than children running free on the beach. Awwwww, sounds like such a fun vacation!!!  Shhhhhh! Don't tell.
